I was born in Quesnel, British Columbia. My family hail from Duck Lake, in the Blackfoot territory of Saskatchewan and Härjedalen, Sweden. Growing up in northern British Columbia I spent a good part of my childhood with my ranching Cree grandfather. He inspired my love of nature and my desire to create art. I was constantly in his workshop welding and building my creations. Through him I learned the cultural stories, the mythology and the struggles of the First Nations People. This was extremely influential in shaping me as a person and voice as an artist.
I was always intrigued by the magic and natural beauty of the west coast. In my 20’s I made the move to Vancouver. After being in the corporate world and working for Audi Canada for much of my professional life, I succumbed to a heart condition that has dramatically reduced the scope of my daily activity and forced me into early retirement.
But as they say: “To every cloud there is a silver lining.”
I have always had an art and design studio where I tinkered in my spare time. I decided that I wanted to make this my new career. I am based in Vancouver where I have my studio space; a purpose build hanger is the center of my artist endeavors. Here I create metal art and build custom motorcycles. I have accepted commissions for specific creations and most of my work is held by private collectors. I have also donated work to help feed Vancouver’s marginalized populations. You can see images of my metal sculptures in the Inside Art page of this website and my rolling metal sculptures (motorcycles) in the Outside Art page here and on the covers of major motorcycle magazines.
